1. When can I purchase my textbooks?

Usually, textbooks are available for purchase one week before your term. Online textbook sales begin the weekend prior to in-store sales. Check the Important Dates page for the latest info for your term.

2. Why do my textbooks cost so much?

On average, 65% of the sticker price for new textbooks will go back to the publisher. The author will receive about 11.6% in royalties and almost 2% will go to the freight company. After covering expenses, the bookstore makes an average of 4.4% in profit, which is then dispersed into the campus, helping to keep the student's institutional costs lower.

5. What is your rental policy?

The Rental Agreement states as follows:
I am renting and am in receipt of the rental book(s) shown on the receipt. I have paid the non-refundable rental fee, and understand that the return policies of the LBCC Campus Store also apply to rental items. I acknowledge that the book, whether new or used, is in good, salable condition, free of liquid damage. 1. I understand the deadline to return rented book(s) is 4:00pm on the Thursday of finals week. Failure to so will result in a $25 penalty fee, plus the full used retail price of the book. 2. I understand and accept responsibility that at the end of the current term, I will return the books rented under this program or pay the replacement price and penalty fee as stated on your receipt, at which time you own the book. I authorize the Campus Store to withdraw/charge the same debit/credit card account that was left as the deposit account to make this payment. I will not exceed the limit or cancel the credit or debit card held as deposit until all the rented materials are either returned to the Campus Store or the fees indicated above are paid in full. 3. I understand that a book rental fee is refundable only in accordance with the textbook refund policy period. 4. I understand that the book(s) rented is the property of LBCC Campus Store and by signing the terms of the agreement, you accept the responsibility to return it to LBCC Campus Store at the campus where you rented it, in re-usable condition by the stated deadline. I am responsible for risk of loss from any cause, including theft, lost item(s), or return in unsalable condition, such as damage caused by liquids (rain, snow, coffee, juice, etc.), missing component parts, and spine damage. 5. If your rental is a loose-leaf format book, you MUST return the rental with no missing pages. 6. If the book(s) is not returned by the deadline, you may not be eligible to participate in the rental program again. 7. All communication regarding your rental(s) will be via your campus issued email address. You are responsible for checking your campus assigned email address, where communication will arrive. Additionally, we may attempt to contact you via text or phone call through LBCC's Communications methods. 8. I have read and fully understand the provisions and terms of the agreement as outlined. I agree to adhere to all conditions as stated.
